Purpose

Why CDAN Exists

Dermatology in California is evolving rapidly, shaped by insurance barriers, regulatory pressures, scope-of-practice expansion, technology, and misinformation that impact patient care and physician practice.

The California Dermatology Advocacy Network (CDAN) was created to ensure that dermatologic care in California remains:

  • Safe
  • Transparent
  • Accessible
  • Guided by appropriately trained, board-certified dermatologists

Our Mission

Dermatologist examining a patient

Our mission is to promote and support excellent dermatologic care for Californians through dermatologist-led advocacy, education, and community outreach.

California Dermatology Advocacy Network actively monitors and engages in healthcare policy, legislative, and regulatory matters that impact the practice, delivery, and future of dermatologic care at both the state and national levels, with a focus on patient safety and specialty integrity.
